In The Mix

Festivals are becoming more and more common, every time I'm on Instagram or twitter someone is talking about or posting photos from another one. Seriously where did they all come from? In my hometown people refer to both traditional music festivals and three day raves as a festival. If you've been to one of each you know the differences; fashion and clothing choices being a huge one. What I've noticed from my experiences the traditional music festival, like Coachella (Coachella is literally the epitome of music festivals), tend to have more of a relaxed boho vibe where as the rave style festivals like EDC and Spring Awakening are all about bright colors and statement pieces. They have similarities but overall they each take they're own spin on the 'music festival' theme. If you haven't noticed, I'm a huge fan of wearing basics so the out of the box things you see at raves aren't quite in my style comfort zone. Granted, wearing fun, crazy, or even off the wall pieces can be pretty rad every now and then I prefer the boho vibe and style of Coachella.
One of my readers who happens to also be a friend of a friend reached out to me because she started making tops for festivals. Originally she was just making them for herself and close friends until random people at these events were requesting them! When I saw them I knew I had to share because they're perfect for anyone like me who likes they're basics but wants a little bit of a statement too. The tops are fully customizable so you can request your preferred color palette--I chose cool tones sticking with shades of blue and purple on a basic white tank. Lately, when I decide add new pieces to my wardrobe, I try to only add things with multiple uses because let's face it those bright purple heels haven't gotten more than three wears. Other than music festivals this tanks makes for a great swim-suit cover up when I'm hanging at the beach or by the pool. You can check out her etsy shop here and don't forget to let me know what you think of her tops in the comments section! Remember in the end, it's all about the music.
