Today I share with you my not so secretive magic potion. You may have heard of it, it's been quite discussed since it was released. I learned of this lovely blue stuff through Claire Marshall, one of my favorite youtubers who, ironically, has a very similar skin type to my own. I want to start by saying this stuff costs a pretty penny, $105 to be exact. I was extremely hesitant to try, much less buy it. Realistically I was only hesitant to try it for fear that I'd love it and then have to hand over a hundred dollars for a 1oz bottle of face oil.

After reading/watching numerous reviews (both good and bad) I finally caved, sort of. My skin was acting up to the extreme, it hadn't been this bad since before my first dermatologist appointment years ago. I was headed to Sephora anyway so while I was there I asked for a sample - if for some reason you didn't know Sephora did this or you've never gotten a sample you are missing out! That tiny little sample in a bottle smaller than the tip of my thumb gave me three nights worth of sleeping oil... a little goes a very long way. I was desperate for something that would give my skin some tlc. I was only slightly optimistic when I slathered on the blue stuff two nights after I picked it up; yes it had a ton of raving reviews, but 1.) my skin is not cooperative, at all and 2.) it sounded just a little too good to be true. The next morning after only one nights use my first thought was, pardon my language, "fuck I might actually have to buy this." The large swollen cystic acne patch on my left cheek was no longer bright red or painful. I still had my spots, but they looked like they were healing.

The next two days I continued to use my little sample. I didn't see more drastic changes, the first night was definitely the biggest, but my skin did have a different look to it. My hyper pigmentation and scars were less noticeable and the moisture in my skin was more balanced. It was beginning to look and feel healthy again. I didn't rush out to Sephora and buy a bottle the day I ran out, it was still a lot of money to be spending on a face oil so I wanted to think it over. I waited a week until I finally came to a conclusion, I've spent hundred of dollars experimenting with products already and both myself and my brother have had prescription medication from the dermatologist of near or equal cost that didn't work so why not buy something that I know will at least have some impact. When I went back to Sephora I talked to an associate, trying to convince myself a little more, and she reminded me if I ended up hating it in the future I could always return it. For whatever reason that gave me the final push I needed.

It's been a couple weeks since the purchase and I've used it regularly, which if I didn't have the cystic acne patch to get rid of I would likely only use it twice a week. My skin went through a brief purging phase between the time my sample ended and the first week of my full size bottle. I had started to workout again and my body was detoxing itself. The purging has since stopped and my old acne scars are almost non-existent. The smaller spots from my skin purging are almost gone, as for that cystic acne patch... it's getting there. If you've ever had cystic acne you know it is a pain to get rid of, but the process has been much quicker with Luna on the scene.

So the moral of the story, does Sunday Riley Luna work? Yes. Do I think it's work the money? Yes, but it's not a need. If you don't have the budget don't fret. It is a great product but it is not worth breaking the bank for. That being said, if you have the funds to splurge go for it but if not that's okay too. As always remember, what may have been a magic potion for my may not be for you because we all have different skin!
